Unnamed Cryptids
Passages from The Cryptid Handbook
Unnamed Cryptid
This cryptid is the cry for help and then silence in abandoned buildings, lots, abandoned homes, and the deep woods. It is the feeling that someone or something is watching you and approaching quickly as you lurk around these forgotten spaces no matter the time of day. It is said to have glowing red eyes set in a face that steams with shadows as if tangible midnight. You will find it standing in the open facing you down until you run or look away– but when you do, you will find it on the other side of you and much closer. Though many have come across the same areas unscathed and without any sighting of the cryptid, there have been enough unlucky wanderers to note this cryptid’s existence.
Unnamed Cryptid
You will find this cryptid in nearly dried riverbeds and stagnant, forgotten bodies of water. There is a hissing in the trees everywhere but where he roams. Some say he is irradiated, others say he is a cursed man, but all agree on the sightings of the frogman who lurks in the haze of summer nights. He appears and reappears great distances apart from each other and will always approach too-close to town on particularly dreary, humid days, as if curious or cautiously hopeful.
Unnamed Cryptid
This cryptid is a faceless, genderless void, almost-human in shape, and brightly colored like television static around the edges. You can find it in all sorts of quiet, lonely places such as the high school when class is out, empty porch swings, the backrooms of department stores, the empty stall next to you, and anywhere that usually holds many people but is currently empty. It is a being that follows you cautiously from afar, drifting perfectly in the corner of your eye. It’s never there when you look, always there when you don’t.
